BRENT RAYMER

DRIVER OF THE NUMBER 85 FORD F-150

NEW SPONSOR For Homestead:

Brent Raymer will make his second career start at the Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 20, 2009. This is the final race of the season and Raymer knows he needs a good showing to get some momentum heading into the off season. Brent Raymer Racing was able to ink a one-race deal to have the Ford. Drive One. decals on their truck for this race.

"We are proud to have 'Ford Drive one' on our truck this week. They (Ford) have given us a lot of help this year and we are pleased that they want us to carry their logo," Raymer said Wednesday at his raceshop in Concord, N.C. "This is the same truck we had at Texas and it's practically brand new so we hope to have a good showing this weekend."

Brent Raymer and his team have been working on their mile and a half program and it seems to be coming along. They posted their best finish to date at the Lowe's Motor Speedway earlier this season.

"The goal this week is to keep working on intermediate program and to get it better, if we do that then the finish will take care of itself," Brent said just before hoping in his hauler to make the 13 hour drive to Miami.

Be sure to tune and and watch the number 85 'Ford. Drive One' F-150 in action on Friday night under the lights in Miami. The race starts at 7:30 P.M. est and is live on Speed.

Raymer comes home in 26th at Texas:

Brent Raymer made 14th start of 2009 but his first start at the Texas Motor Speedway on Friday November 6th. He brought the EMI Ford F-150 home to a 26th place finish.

The Brent Raymer Racing team brought a brand new Ford F-150 to the track with high hopes of a strong run.

During the first and final practice sessions, Raymer was running competitive lap times but was experiencing minor handling issues. Unfortunately, those issues would continue through his qualifying effort and he eventually started the race in 32nd position.

When the green flag dropped, Raymer made some progress through the field coming up into the mid 20s before the handling problems that he was experiencing came back to haunt him. By lap 30, Raymer pulled into the garage to make major changes to the EMI Ford F-150.

Raymer would continue going between the garage and the track to fix the handling issues that he was facing in preparation for his next start at the Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 20th at 7:30 P.M.

"We brought a brand new truck here with high hopes, but with it being our first time out here and all we really didn't know what to expect," Raymer said after the race had ended. "We feel like we have a grasp on what the issues were so we can correct them and run better in a few weeks down in Miami. We are really looking forward to going down there and having a good run so we can get some momentum that can carry over into 2010."
